I recently found out that a cakephp beginners tutorial I wrote over 2
years ago when I first started learning cakephp, has recently been
plagiarised by "Jagat Singh" of www.jagatsingh.com

The plagirised version of my tutorial is at

http://www.jagatsingh.com/blogs/2008/10/09/beginners-guide-to-cakephp-windows/

and it's pretty obvious where it's been edited, for starters he didn't
even bother to read through it when doing a copy+paste job, as in the
example code you can clearly still see "stickymaddness" along with my
email address. Right at the end of the article it's obvious where he
chopped off my closing paragraph and added his own as the tone of the
article completely changes. Secondly the article is really out dated
now as at the time I was only starting to learn cakephp 1.1, but he
passes it off as being for both cakephp 1.1 & 1.2, anyone who has only
even briefly used cakephp would know that 1.2 does not have .thtml
files!

After looking at some more of "his" other cakephp articles (
http://www.jagatsingh.com/blogs/category/cakephp/ ) which I have no
doubt he has plagiarised as well, I saw another article that I
recognised

http://www.jagatsingh.com/blogs/2008/10/09/cakephp-quick-tips/

This article is a ripoff/splicing together of Tim Koschützki's "Make
your life easier with these five CakePHP Quicktips" and teknoid's "15
Essential CakePHP Tips" article.

Other interesting/concerning pages by Jagat are

http://jagat-singh.blogspot.com/2008/08/learn-cakephp-and-php-within-two-month.html
http://www.ahaan.com/prodreview/products/shared/19

While "this is the internet, these type of things are to be expected",
I still think this was worth bringing to peoples attention, as "Jagat
Singh" is promoting himself and possibly profiteering by ripping off
other peoples hard work.

When this was first discovered two comments where made on his site,
both of which he deleted, I have also emailed him the link to this
post, so if this is somehow a misunderstanding he is more than welcome
to comment here.
