I've been modifying Wouter Verweirder's port of othman ouahbi's SwiftMailer component. I've posted my version here:
http://bin.cakephp.org/view/2015386698 This is very much a work in progress. I'm pretty sure I'll be changing things but it works fine as is, so far. Note that a new Message is created by calling newMessage($subject). The biggest change, probably, is that there's a text version created automatically. That is, if 'html' is chosen, the text version is also included. Email should never go out as HTML alone unless it wants to end up in the Junk folder.
