Hi Deb, I am not sure that a SOAP based application is the best way to try out cakephp Even though the framework definitely allows you to consume (or define) such web services (especially with the concept of datasources), cakephp won't provide you much assistance with the service layer. Therefore, you might have difficulties to find detailled documentations and to design a straightforward implementation of your service proxies.
I would rather suggest you to start cakephp with an application that will truely leverage the benefits of this nice framework.
