Put simply, they're deprecated because the new way is better. Personally, I thought using 'first', 'all', etc. was pretty dumb when I first saw it, to be honest. But I soon realised that it's actually far more robust. Then I saw this article by Nate (which, funny enough, was just recommended by AD7six for another problem) and quickly realised just how freaking robust it can be. Roll your own find types, for instance. http://bakery.cakephp.org/articles/view/quick-tip-doing-ad-hoc-joins-in-model-find Though the main point of the article is enough for bookmarking, focus on the AppModel::find() override. I think that anyone who's either against or on the fence over the new find syntax should give that a gander. This is powerful stuff. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CakePHP" group.
