Makes sense to me, except it'd be a problem for, eg. Lamps, or Chairs, etc. needing a Living Room or Dining Room subCat. themselves. I wonder if it'd be a good idea to mix a Category model (using Tree) with something like Tags. So, say, "Tables" (the thing) would be a Category, with "Living Room", etc. (the qualifier, for want of a better word) being a Tag. I'm just thinking out loud here. I've no idea how to make this work.
