I've got an Email confirmation/validation process working for new users, the user receives an email with a link and this link has a hash value. I am just wondering if it were possible that one word could have the same hash as another?
Using either of these hash methods sha1/sha256/md5? If so what are other people using to generate a unique code? apart from date/time as that would be guessable.
