CakePHP 1.2x comes with an Ajax helper which works with the popular
Prototype and Scriptaculous JavaScript libraries. A lot of people use
jQuery or other JavaScript frameworks, whichever you chose it;s just
as easy to include your own javascript calls for Ajax applications.

The Auth component uses SHA1 password encryption by default and you
can either write your own isAuthorized() actions within each
controller or you can employ the ACL (Access Control Lists) Component
to give your users varying levels of access.

Cake also includes Internationalization and Localization features so
you should be able to provide your side in your native language and
english if required.

There are a range of helpers, components, behaviours, plugins
available in the bakery which cover both Image/File Uploads and PHP/
Flash Charts.

Whether this is the perfect solution for your needs really depends on
how quickly you can become comfortable with use the framework.
