If I understand your model and field names correctly, after submitting
your BookingPosition form which includes the field Lodging.id, you
should be able to use:
$numberOfBeds = $this->BookingPosition->Lodging->field('numberOfBeds',
array('Lodging.id'=>$this->data['Lodging']['id']));
