An excellent suggestion. The manual, despite its warts, does contain a lot of information. It continues to teach me things (usually, the stuff that i ~ahem~ didn't read the first time around, or things that I simply didn't understand at first. Cake has a lot going on so don't beat yourself up about it. Be prepared to re-visit things. Eventually, the "a-ha!" moments will arrive and the concepts will come together. Another site that I found of immense help was Teknoid's blog: http://teknoid.wordpress.com/ There are plenty of others out there, also. Just continue to note the date that something was posted. Cake has changed an awful lot so paying attention to when something was written is crucial. The information in older posts may be useful, nonetheless, but code examples will probably be outdated and may not work.
