I'm curious to know if others also experience the following scenario... Most of us host our Cake applications at hosting companies who use PHP 5.2. The reason for this is that alot of main stream web applications don't yet support PHP 5.3 and it's risky for hosting companies who typically host many sites per server to upgrade to 5.3 on account of a few clients who require PHP 5.3. However PHP 5.3 is a pre requisite in order to make the leap to CakePHP 1.3. It is unfortunate that alot (probably the majority) of Cake users will be tied to 1.2 for yet another while, while the future is really happening at Cake 1.3 onwards and this creates a rift between the two.
