I'd also look at the containable behaviour. Once you start using it, you'll
always use it. What that allows you to do is:
$product = $this->Product->find(
'first',
array(
'conditions' => array('Product.id' => $id),
'contain' => array(
'YourModel' => array(..all sorts of options...)
)
)
);
Then you have an array showing 'this' Product record plus the associated
YourModel record or records if the relationship is hasMany.
