Not sure what you mean by "tested on the directory" but, yes, it can be resolved in htaccess: Options -MultiViews Better to put that in your main or virtual host config, though, if you are able to, as htaccess slows down the server. > Will the multi option effect other directories on the server if turned off? MultiViews doesn't act on directories, precisely. If you were to request foo.com/bar and you had both a bar directory and a bar.php file, it would choose bar.php.
