So, in your search() action, call the validates() method as show in
the book here:
http://book.cakephp.org/view/3/The-Manual#!/view/410/Validating-Data-from-the-Controller
Something like:
if ($this->Plan->validates()) {
// continue to show your search results view
} else {
// didn't validate logic
$this->redirect(SearchFormView); // Send them back to the
search form
}
