Eggless Cake

Ingredients:
1 c Buttermilk or Sour milk
1 c Sugar
2 c Flour
1/2 c Shortening
1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Allspice
1 ts Nutmeg
Cream sugar and shortening.
Sift flour, measure, and sift with
baking soda, baking powder, salt,
and spices.
Add alternately with milk to first mixture.
Beat thoroughly.
Pour into well-oiled loaf pan.
Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 45-50 minutes.
