I was in austria recently and had the best cake in the world. It is called the imperial torte and is made at the hotel imperial in vienna. It was made exclusively for th emperor franz josef I when the hotel opened in 1873. The cake has many layers thin layers of sponge with cocoa creme in the middle of each layer. there is a lyer of mazipan that goes right around the cake and it has a milk chocolate glaze on top of that. The mazipan offsets the sweetness of the entire cake. A picture of the cake can be seen at the websites below.
