Texas Pecan Cake

2 cups flour
1/2 pound chopped candied cherries
4 slices candid pineapple
1 pound pecans(after shelled)
1 pound butter
1-2 pound package brown sugar
6 egg yolks
3 tablespoons lemon extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
6 beaten egg whites

Preheat oven 250 degrees.

Mix together the first four ingredients. cream the butter and brown 
sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time- beat after each addition. Add 
lemon extract, 2 cups flour and baking powder.Add fruit mixture, 
fold in egg whites. Bake in tube pan for three hours. Serves 20
