Janet Leigh's Gateau Dore
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups cake flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
yolks of 4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, a moderate oven.
Cream butter well, add sugar, continue beating.
Add yolks beaten light, add 1 teaspoon vanilla,
mix thoroughly, then add milk alternately with
the flour and baking powder mixed.
Beat, place in greased and floured pan, &
bake 35-45 minutes.
Bake in loaf or layers.
