Grandma's Graham Bread
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 C. warm water
1 quart water or milk
1 C. molasses
2 tsp. salt
8 C. graham or whole wheat flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine water or milk and molasses, then
warm them. Pour into large owl and add yeast mixture, salt and graham or
whole wheat flour. Stir well and set in cool place overnight.
In morning, stir well again. Mixture will be runny. Pour into 2
greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pans and let rise 1 hour in warm place.
Preheat oven to 450ºF.
Bake bread 10 minutes; lower heat to 400ºF. and bake about 50 minutes
more, or until done. (Sometimes it takes a bit less than full time.)
Makes 2 loaves
