Wheat Apple Cake
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup cooking oil
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups finely chopped peeled apples
1 cup chopped walnuts
21/2 cups ROBIN HOOD Stone Ground Whole Wheat or Graham Flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
34 tsp. allspice
2 eggs
SPOON flour into measuring cup and level off. Pour onto wax paper.
ADD baking powder, salt and allspice to flour. Stir well to blend.
BEAT eggs until light in color and slightly thickened. ADD sugar gradually,
beating until light and fluffy. Beat in oil and vanilla. ADD blended dry
ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with apples. Stir in walnuts.
SPOON batter into greased 13x9x2-inch pan. BAKE at 350° for 50-55 minutes
until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. SER VB warm or cold
with whipped topping or ice cream.
MAKES 15-18 servings.
