I'm sorry, I don't know.  Is this not the correct way to go about  
using group calendars?

Or perhaps I've been unclear.  When I mentioned creating a new  
"account" or the group calendar, I did that from within iCal.  I did  
not create a new "user" in my xml configuration file for DCS.
