Guillaume, You should be able to circumvent the need to get a list by navigating to the calendar in a web browser, copying the principal URI of user2's calendar and in user1's iCal/subscribe pasting it in. That's how we plan to do it in my shop... but I'm gong to set up a wiki of calendar URI's to make it easy for people.
Where you're going to run into trouble with this solution is in the CalDAV/WebDAV ACL's. You can edit them if you log in as admin using mulberry. Problem is if your admin user is broken and you don't know why... you're at a dead end.
