You can just search all the files and make sure they point to the python25 
build rather than the default python. 

When installing the new python version you should find that the old one 
remains. So as long as you change the links you should be fine

Btw what else breaks? I tend to only run calendar on a server on its own, and 
then change yum to point at the older version of python.
