Hey Patrick, I'm not saying it can't be changed, I'm saying it shouldn't be changed : )
Though I can't quote any other open source projects as a reference, the accepted practice within the branding/design world is that changing a logo to fit one's own purpose dilutes brand strength, particularly if there are multiple versions of a logo for a single "product". Also, the outcome generally looks bad aesthetically. This is certainly an interesting conversation, though. My recommendation is that a style guide be created for the Cordova logo, including usage do's and don'ts. -j On 12-06-22 2:23 PM, "Patrick Mueller" <[email protected]> wrote: >On Fri, Jun 22, 2012 at 1:56 PM, Joni Rustulka <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Sorry to be the downer brand police, but changing the logo in anyway is >>a >> big no-no. >> > >So, for clarification, the icon in question with the "Tizen" eyes is here: > > https://github.com/pplaquette/cordova-tizen-icons/blob/master/icon.png > >The same icon, as proudly displayed here: > > http://incubator.apache.org/cordova/ > >Is that icon not licensed under the Apache license?
