Hi Tim. The File.io based API you are using on PlayBook is what you should be using. The PlayBook browser only has a partial implementation of the HTML5 File API. Full support only comes in the BlackBerry 10 browser. So my suggestion is basically status quo for the Cordova PlayBook implementation until BlackBerry 10 comes to PlayBook. We will update the docs to ensure this is clear. --
