Interesting problem. I've never worked with a band that didn't give four beats. Seems like if they weren't doing the four beats they would need to wait for your first call and come in related to that - perhaps they don't dance? It is hard to remember everything one needs to coordinate with the band when one is also learning to call! I sometimes forget to find out how much notice they want before ending (some don't care, some want two times - some want three so they can do really fancy endings!)
