My "Fun Dance for Marjorie" (written with Linda Leslie), "Marjorie's
Delight", and others were written to assist a female dancer who faces some
mobility and fatigue issues on the dance floor. These dances are intended to
be enjoyable for either role, but when there's any real effort to be
expended it's the gent who does it, and there are built-in rest stops to
accommodate the lady. This can be construed as the men "doing most of the
work" or "having most of the fun", depending upon an individual female
dancer's energy levels. When creating an evening's dance program,
consideration should be given to varying the physical effort expended by
either role, so that it more or less balances out in the end. ... Bob
