Peter, and all,
If you are using recorded music , I do hope you are sending some cut of
your take as a royality to the musicians who worked hard to record the
music. Their labor counts.
For me, live music makes the event lively! Dancers respond to live
musicians and the musicians respond in turn. In my 15 years of calling
dances, I have used recorded music once.......and will attempt to keep that
from happening again. Many musicians are quite happy just to have
dancers to play for at small parties. I've "passed the hat" to collect gas
money (and embarressed the organizer) because I believe the connection
between the dancers and the musicians is important.
Probably not what you wanted to hear and certainly not the response you
were seeking but you pushed a button here.
Cheers, John, Unity, Maine
