I find them useful for large workshops, demonstrating from the floor, and very (too?) liberating. But when I'm on stage the I'm more comfortable holding (hiding behind) something, and a microphone is a good, unpretentious prop. I've developed strategies to avoid needing free hands and amplification on the dance floor, rather than overcoming my problems with headsets. I really suggest that you try to borrow one and experiment before you buy one, to see if it fits your style. And keep a good supply of foam windshields if you do buy one. Cheers, Adam Cambridge, UK.
