I've just noticed myself developing an instinct to say something on beat 6 or so of every 8-bar phrase, and shut up the rest of the time. Sometimes when I get a bit distracted and lose my place on the card, I feel myself wanting to speak without even knowing what the next move is, just because of where the music is (and then I very quickly look down at my card and try to figure out where exactly we are in the dance). Is that sort of what you're talking about?
