Tina, My error. I haven't called APQ recently and now that I look at them side by side they are very similar. The major differences are that APQ is a 5 part dance and the 5th part is what I always think of as the signature figure of the dance. CCP leaves out that part and adds the CA twirl instead.
However, that last part does include the progression - so it is not static. It does, however, lack the feature of most 4X4 where the couples change sides with each other each time thru the dance. It sounds like the version you have leaves out the last part - and I can understand why you would not enjoy it as much What I have is: B2 is circle 8 all the way around B3 (or C1 if you prefer) is turn line inside out left gents lead -inside out again - wider turn to progress One thing that I enjoy while calling this dance is that B3 looks chaotic and you think everyone is lost - but then it all comes together for the A1 Mac ________________________________ From: Tina Fields <[email protected]> To: Mac Mckeever <[email protected]>; Caller's discussion list <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 6, 2013 3:14 PM Subject: Re: [Callers] Coconut Cream Pie: easy 4-facing-4s Interesting, Mac. Now I wonder if we have different variations on the Quadrille, because the only difference I see between that and Coconut Cream Pie is the added B2 Bal the Ring/CA twirl that allows the dance to continue on in a contra line formation rather than being static among the same 8 dancers. Would you post your version?
