I have done lots of ONS dances on carpet - no big deal. Even turning is not an issue as long as it is not thick carpet. I even prefer it to the portable parquet dances floors some place have.
Have a good time and don't worry about the carpeting (lumpy grass is a whole different story - but still not as bad as you think) Mac ________________________________ From: Sue Robishaw <[email protected]> To: Shared Weight Callers List <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2014 9:03 PM Subject: [Callers] ONS on Carpet I've agreed to call a wedding reception dance this summer, outside on more-or-less flattish ground. Having practically memorized all the wonderful advise on the list about weddings and grass I'm comfortable with that. But if the weather doesn't cooperate, the gig moves inside the Inn/Dining/Bar. Very crowded, AND, I just found out, carpeted. Crowded I think I can handle (though recommendations would be welcome), but carpeting -- eeackk. OK, so it's not turning dances and maybe it's not much different from lumpy grass -- lots of walking and no sashaying -- but if you've done it could you share what worked best?
