We never quiet reached a conclusive answer to that thread... But since
it is getting "late", I guess we would go for my original suggestion:
- branch early august, around August 10th
- release final in September
Also, since the 2.8 branch seem to still be rather active, I guess we
could schedule a 2.8.5 for early August.
