Our ITSP experiences have been somewhat of an oddysey.
We've probably tried ot about 20 different providers by now and each has one issue or another. Here is a list of some of the ones we've used that are better than average: icall - Excellent rates - some issues with some NPA's not terminating correctly. Some NPA's are billed at ridiculously high rates (8 cents a minute), so you probably want to do some LCR. DID's are cheap - 1.99unlimited for 2 channels 1.99 for unlimited channels + 1 cent a minute. We've tried porting some numbers to this carrier and it has been pure misery (2 months and counting) gafachi - This is who we're currently using for termination. Pretty good so far - a few minor call quality issues. Decent rates (0.009 a minute if you're using > 10000 minutes a month). Some hoops to jump through regarding channel setup, etc. They also have free 1800 termination (something you definitely shouldn't take for granted) voipstreet - Far and away the best provider we've used so far. No issues - no downtime - I haven't even touched their web portal in months. Expensive. Very expensive in my opinion. We're paying ~150.00 a month for 10 numbers inbound. We're not using them for termination at all. If you need reliability for your DID's these guys are the place to go. Ports take about 30 days and cost about 25.00. Porting numbers is always an ordeal. Most carriers claim they can do it - not many can come through for you. We've been pestering icall for a month now just hoping they'll come through. You REALLY want to be careful about who you choose for your inbound provider because you can't easily port your numbers around. Termination is not so critical - you can swtich termination providers on the fly and most are pay as you go with no contracts, minimums, etc. We're also looking at using a 'REAL' phone company (verizon, etc) but the hoops and paperwork you have to crawl through are definitely a consideration here. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has had GOOD experiences with ITSP's . We're always looking for reliable, cheap termination. On 4/28/07, Thomas Kenyon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
