Recently I tried app_sms with ,
callweaver-1.9.99.20071218
spandsp-0.0.4pre16
zaptel-1.4.7.1
hardware TDM400P
in Singapore with land line telco provider singtel
it worked fine after some fixes. and can send sms and Latin characters
7-bits/8-bits
but I am unable to send Unicode (UCS-2 or 16-bits) sms in Arabic or Chinese.
the problem is that my mobile show the message with invalid character
following is the sms_debug message of complete sms data just before sending.

I also test the generated ud HEX string with third party web2sms service and
it work fine and displayed on my mobile correctly but when I send this
message from callweaver + singtel my mobile can not show the message
