Asterisk have done some good job solving this issue. You are not bounded with zap timer device anymore, so you can easily deploy it in virtual servers. I think that Callweaver was relevant some years ago when there were big problems with asterisk but now, the future is asterisk side (Disclaimer: I have deployed Callweaver and it is still working great, so no offense to dev team who did a very good job! But for my new projects I have switched back to asterisk.) I have no opinion with Freeswitch as I have not worked with it (I was a bit repelled with the xml config syntax...). The best advice is to go what you are familiar with, depending on your needs. Hope this will help.
