NERVOUS MAN JUMPS FROM ROOF
Rom  Sorya, 38, an official at the Ministry of Commerce in Phnom Penh,  
committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his house at 2:30am Tuesday.  Rom 
Sorya's family said that he suffered from a "chronic nervous disease"  and that 
he already attempted to commit suicide on two previous occasions.  The man's 
body has been taken to a Phnom Penh pagoda for  cremation.

MAN ASSAULTS WIFE AND KILLS  ANIMALS
Khun Hun, 42, was arrested by the police for beating  up his wife and killing 
a cow, a dog and two hens in Battambang province  at 11pm Saturday. The 
police said that Khun Hun killed the animals in a  drunken rage at his wife 
because 
she ran away from home after he  physically assaulted her and that he was 
eating dog meat with his friend  when they arrived at his house to arrest him. 
The man's wife, Long  Chroeun, 35, has now lodged a complaint against her 
husband and the police  have filed a report to send Khun Hun to appear in 
court.

SAD, SILENT  WOMAN TAKES POISON 
Chaem Hoeun,  36, attempted to commit  suicide by eating poison because she 
was angry at her seven children for  not helping her with housework in Koh Tkov 
commune, Chul Kiri district at  9:30am Monday. The woman's husband said that 
his wife has been very sad  and rarely talked, and that on the day of the 
incident she unsuccessfully  tried to get their seven children to help her cut 
grass behind the family  home. According to Chaem Hoeun's husband, he 
discovered 
his wife vomiting  behind the house approximately an hour after their children 
refused to  help her. Chaem Hoeun has been taken to the hospital where 
doctors are  fighting to save her life.

WOMAN DEAD AFTER LUNCH  QUARREL
Sam Oeun, 36, committed suicide by hanging herself  because she was angry at 
her husband for physically and verbally abusing  her when he was drunk, and 
not helping her to financially support the  family in Oral village, Kampong 
Speu 
province Monday. The woman's  neighbours said that on the day of the incident 
they saw the couple  arguing over lunch and Sam Oeun's sulky husband leaving 
the house in a  huff to go to the family farm land. The dead woman was 
discovered when her  children came home from school and alerted the neighbours.
