Anyone with a sense of right and wrong knows that neither US Republican party nor the US Democratic party is any where close to the Khmer Rouge ideology. Granted, extreme right wing US politicians, partisan, who are anti minority, and racist, but those are the minority of the US population.  Fortunately, they are not the ideology of the mainstream Republican party.   In the 1900s, some Democratic politicians, southern Democratic parties had tied to the KKK.   The White Supremacist group.   Now, the role is reversed, Democratic party is the party which defends the helpless, the middle class, and American diversity.   The Republican party is the party which is pro big businesses, pro rich 1%.  anti immigrant party. A lot of Cambodian refugees do not know it was Democratic President Carter who open the gate for SE refugees to enter the US which continued into 1983 in which his successor Republican Ronald Reagan, appeased to Sihanouk, Thailand, and GOP ideology of anti immigrants, reduced the number of Cambodian refugees to  a fickle.   Many Cambodian refugees hope of settling in a third country vanished with a few month as they were forced to stay  as a population base for anti Vietnamese resistance forces in refugee camps along Thai Cambodian borders.    Many Cambodians were living refugee camps for years until 1992 Paris Peace Agreement, which they were sent back to cambodia.  In Camdisc wrote: If anyone who’s living through the Khmer Rouge regime, understanding  the Khmer Rouge’s ideology than they will hate the Democrats’ ideology, which both are not far a part.   Vote Republicans!   --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group.
