UONG THU : The conflict between Thai and Cambodia is political game, nobody invading nor taking anybody country.About 4.6 kilometers uncontested area is a hot point to be claimed by both countries, in fact that land is rightfully owned by Cambodia since the Hague Verdict of 1962. But since the country of Cambodia was busy of killing each other and assisting Vietnam to unify their country, the physical occupation of that piece of land was vacant. To aggrandize their business empire assembling with tendency of strategic plan of the "Journey to the West" Hanoi has to enforce its policy by pushing CPP to the edge of dangerous curve provoking war with Thailand while that kingdom is in serious domestic turmoil, this plan has been crafted for three years early and caught Thai by surprise. There is question about that Hun Sen/CPP cronies have lots business deals with Thai business people, Thai business bribed Hun Sen/ CPP deep to the bone, gofl course, agrobusiness telecomunication etc..But of these profits are privately owned and earned by a few group not Hanoi subsidiary corporation such Sokimex.Million of dollars are made from tourist industry by Sokimex. The Preah Vihear fiasco will be peacefully solved if pro-Taksin current government still survive otherwise the challenge of this saga will remain intact if otherside of Thai group succeed in ruling the country. To force Khmer give up tradition of connecting Thai is the difficult task of Hanoi, because of different culture and mentality between Khmer and Vietnamese. Khmer loved Thai movies from Chanel 3 and 7 soap opera, in certain instant Khmer song writers and singers have to pirate Thai songs to their own, because of today these young artists are not well trained, and there is no match to old khmer song writers singers like Has Salan, Voy Ho, Sin Sisamuth. As to day in the club of every entertainment no one khmer singer ever sing Vietnamese song maybe later, but most CPP official and families are traveling to Vietnam for shopping than previously did in Bangkok. Until the completion of Federation the social policy might change and it depends how effective will it be. Hanoi is ready to prepare and launch social change for these countries.Hanoi know very well to win heart and mind from Cambodia and Lao but through political and strategical implatation that vesting with their surrogated regimes CPP and Pathet Lao will be working smoothly.
