THE FBI SEEMS TO FORGET THAT ALL THE SO CALLED "CAMBODIAN" OFFICIALS INCLUDING
THE POLICE ARE OVER 90% VIETNAMESE ADMINISTRATORS.
La police a procédé à l'arrestation le 27 décembre de trois individus suspectés
d'être les chefs de la bande de malfaiteurs responsable du braquage d'une
bijouterie de Phnom Penh.

C'est au cours de l'enquête qui a suivi le braquage d'une bijouterie de
l'arrondissement de Russey Keo de Phnom Penh, commis la semaine dernière, que
la police a procédé à l'arrestation de trois suspects, en deux endroits
différents de la capitale. Le montant du casse s'élève à 10 000 dollars en
argenterie et à 300 000 dollars en or.
Selon un quotidien national, Koh Santéapheap, qui cite des sources policières,
ces malfrats sont sans doute à l'origine de trois actes de brigandage, dont
celui réalisé au bureau central de la banque Acleda, à deux pas de la
municipalité de Phnom Penh. Selon les autorités, la plupart des membres de
cette bande ont été arrêtés, ils utilisaient des véhicules de haut de gamme, du
genre Toyota Lexus. Un inspecteur de police aurait précisé au même journal que
des personnes, non identifiées, auraient préparé la somme nécessaire au
paiement de la caution qui permettra aux suspects de sortir de détention
provisoire. Selon ce même policier, il aurait proposé à ses supérieurs de ne
pas appuyer cette remise en liberté, qui aurait pour effet de décourager les
membres de la police.
Le chef de la police nationale, Neth Savoeun, avait déclaré lors de sa
nomination, en remplacement de Hok Lundy, décédé lors d'un accident
d'hélicoptère, qu' « il ferait au mieux améliorer l'image de la police aux yeux
