It is regrettable that Mme Mu Soc Hua was afraid of CTN and yet she is not
afraid of Cambodian court to seek "justice Cambodian style." One wonders
why she had sued Premier Hun Sen in "Cambodian court" in the first place?
Mu Soc Hua stated that she knew in advance that Hun Sen would counter her
lawsuit and that she would lose the case anyway. This contradiction will
allow Premier Hun Sen to charge that her intention was not to seek justice,
but to provoke him. She is falling into his trap again.
This is what politicians do. They create special events to generate public
attention and more dollar contributions. It seems that this is what they
can do best. Overseas Khmer are being asked to help absorb her attorney
fees and additional expenses, the money that could be used for something else
more useful...

Dearest friends and supporters,

Greetings from Cambodia where I arrived last night with a crowd and media
awaiting at the airport.
You might have read that I refused to be interviewed by CTN who also
happened to be there. Soy Sopheap was there as well and I told him clearly
that
I do not intend to be interwieved by a CPP TV that will not give anyone a
chance to clarify when he/she is misrepresented.

My very sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of you who showed up in
big numbers for your deep love and concern for the country.

As you know, my trial is set for Friday 24July, as I have been charged for
defamation. We don't know what else they will charge me or trialed me for
on that day. This is justice Cambodian style. I will be there for the trial
and ready to accept the worst.

Bang Ho Vann is trialed on 17July. His lawyer will appear on his behalf.

My lawyer is sick and is in SIngapore for check ups. Please help with the a
ppeal for the legal fees. Every single dollar counts.

Best wishes,
Sochua

Dear Colleagues,

Please be informed that MP Mu Sochua has returned to Washington,DC early
this afternoon. Many supporters turned out to express their personal
supports. They praised her courage and wisdom, her commitment to the cause
of
democracy, and her willingness to stand her ground on the very principle
of justice, even going to jail, if it means to be.

People understood the bigger challenge the country is facing, the failure
of the whole justice system. MP Sochua told the crowd that it is not about
her or whoever the person maybe, but the future of our democracy, the
justice and equality for all people under the law. As of today and under the
current regime, there is practically no such justice existed. It's the
way the CPP-controlled government manipulated the judiciary branch to
strengthening its dictatorship rule, to legitimize more land evictions,
accused,
prosecuted and jailed any descending media groups or individuals,
including but not limited to, elected representatives of the people like
herself
and MP Ho Vann.

MP Mu Sochua spent a very productive day yesterday afternoon, running from
one place to the other, meeting with two Canadian members of Parliament,
Hon. Pablo Rodriguez and Hon. Justin Trudeau. We are truly greatful for
their times on such a short notice given.

Later in that evening, there were a very good crowd turned out for the
diner. Some came all the way from Ottawa, a 2:30 hrs drive, not to mention,
traffic during rush hours. This morning prior to her departure, she went
to pay respect to our monks and greet some more supporters.

I could not tell you enough, how much love and supports MP Sochua received
from our loving compatriots here in Montreal. There were people, some are
not at all members of SRP, but were there to express their wholehearted
supports on the cause she is fighting, that is the real justice for all
Cambodians - the wrongly convicted, the poors, the land evictees, the jailed
journalists today and yesterday. Our people has vowed to do their utmost to
make sure that justice will prevail and MP Mu Sochua is truly a symbol of
hope to all of that - a highly dignified Cambodian woman with strong
courage, wisdom and commitment to serve for the love of her people and the
country.

I wish to extend my profound thanks and gratitude to friends and all
Cambodian loving democratic supporters for their outpouring of kind words,
present, but most of all, to make MP Mu Sochua's trip to our city truly a
remarkable success.

In Solidarity, Always
Pretty
