UN Passes Strong Resolution on Cambodia Human Rights Abuses
Feb. 27, 1982 : UN Commission on Human Rights meeting in Geneva adopted a
resolution condemning Vietnam’s occupation of Cambodia as a violation of
Cambodian human rights. The vote was 28 in favor, 8 against, and 5 abstentions.
Oct. 21, 1986 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/41/6, by vote
of 116-21 with 13 abstentions, calling for a withdrawal of Vietnamese forces
from Cambodia.
IT'S IMPERATIVE FOR VIETNAM TO COMPLY WITH THIS UN RESOLUTION

Officials of the "Cambodian" government of Hun Sen/Heng Samrin/Chea Sim from
1978-2009.

PHNOM PENH, July 9, 2009 (AFP) - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Thursday
left for a five-day official visit to France at the invitation ofPresident
Nicolas Sarkozy, aimed at boosting ties between the two countries.
During his visit, Hun Sen was scheduled to hold talks with Sarkozy, French
Prime Minister Francois Fillon and Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner,
Cambodia's foreign ministry said in a statement.
"This visit is to strengthen cooperation between Cambodia and France," said
foreign ministry spokesman Koy Kuong.
The Cambodian premier, who is accompanied by Foreign Minister Hor Namhong
and a number of senior government officials, would also attend a French
military marching ceremony on Sunday, he said.
A REMINDER TO FRANCE.
March 12, 1985 Chinese President Li Xiannian, on his visit to Thailand, pledged
to continue support for the CGDK in struggling against the Vietnamese's
occupation of Cambodia.
PRK PM Hun Sen outlines six requirement for Kampuchean settlement:
(1) Elimination of Pol Pot forces by political and military fields;
(2) withdrawal of Vietnamese troops after Pol Pot is eliminated;
(3) free and supervised elections can be held immediately if certain
individuals and groups join PRK against Pol Pot gang; (4) creation of peaceful
coexistence and stability among SE Asian countries with different social and
political regimes;
(5) cessation of all interference by countries outside the region; and
(6) creation of international guarantees and supervision of above agreements.
