Hi Lenny,

It was rather dumb if the court had settled the case without specifically
defining the surrounding areas of the Temple. The Thai government is also
stupid to claim for something that doesn't belong to Thai. It would be better
for the Thai to cooperate with Cambodian so that they can help Thai people
living in the areas of Preah Vihear. But, that the main reasons for all of
this are more political than logical.

You are right Cambodia should have done a better job in building road
infrastructures to reach the many temples in Cambodia, but I guess its top
priorities were to build Villas, Casinos, Hotel and skyscrapers in Phnom Penh.
For the amount of money that Cambodia makes from Angkor, the road to Preah
Vihear was doable.

But, it's never too late to build... Fighting should be the last resources.
 No more killings.

I'm confused. Was the land surrounding Preah Vihear not officially given
to Cambodia in 1962 as I read on another member of Camdisc's reply? Why
hasn't the CPP built a high quality road /entrance for tourists ? Why did they
wait so long to complete the road from Siem Reap to Anlong Veng? What is
the status of the road from Anlong Veng to Preah Vihear temple? That road
would also be of grat value to the small villages along the way. The CPP make
foolish stupid mistakes. That temple should of been commercialized years
ago. By relying on the Thai's initiative to set up and use their roads
Cambodia allowed themselves to be DEPENDANT on the Thai's. Why would the CPP
allow another country to dictate how many tourists can visit a Cambodian
temple
? Us foreigners have to pay twice remember from the Thai side. Hun Sen is
a soldier, not a public adminstrator and should stick to wars. Regards,
Lenny
