Let us remind you about Sihanouk story. Norodom Sihanoiuk cooperated with France for the Cambodian independence for himself, not for those who fought so hard for it. France was not going to have themselves embarrassed. So Sihanouk became their scape goat. Then Norodom Sihanouk became the father of the Cambodian independence. What happened to those who fought the french occupation of Cambodia. Norodom Sihanouk then sold the sovereignty to China and North Vietnam. He allowed Chinese to transport weapons and ammunitions through Cambodian seaport to supply NVA fighting the war in South Vietnam. Sihanouk also allowed North Vietnam to use Cambodian soil to tranport troops and supplies to south vietnam via Cambodian soil. Norodom Sihanouk only thought of his power, not for his national interest when he refused to negotiate with Lon Nol. Norodom Sihanouk then turned around to join his long time enemy, Khmer Rouge, hoping that he would get his power back. He did become the top official of the Khmer Rouge regime at the beginning. Then he was taken out after Khmer Rouge has established their revolution. Norodom Sihanouk was not a pure communist member. Now, he claimed to be a vicitm of Khmer Rouge regime. Norodom cannot be a vicitm of something he created. Eat it. Norodom Sihanouk couldn't finish his career yet. He started to created this and that so he could gain his power back. Ofdourse he became the king of Cambodia for a while.
Look at the history. What has Sihanouk done for the country? Ofcourse, he has lead the people through a roler coaster for his own benefit. He doesn't care whether his people are fighting each other or not. Is he a thug? Make your own judgement. I brought this out about twenty years ago. At first, bullets were coming from all direction. I knew then as I know now that no one can change that fact. Norodom Sihanouk's history is a true ugly story of Cambodia. More people now have realized what Sihanouk has done to his country. Now, please allow me to add just a tiny piece of my observation. Look at Sam Rainsy and his activities. Can you see any similar acts of Sam Rainsy to Sihanouk?
