Friends and Colleagues,

?

I wish to offer my personal observation as one of many attendees of
the(09/10/2009) US Congressional Hearing on Cambodia Human Rights issues.

?

- The room was packed with a large number of Cambodians which makes a strong
impression?on the commission.

?

- The main focus of the event was?the deterioration of human rights?conditions
in Cambodia today.?SRP MP Mu Sochua was the?rightful person in?delivering the
testimony because of her status as victim, a woman, duly elected MP, member of
the leading opposition party, former minister of women affairs, HR activist, US
citizen, US educated politician.??Having witnessed?her hard work,?skills,
commitment and previous testimony, I have every reason to believe that she was
very effective.?SRP and Cambodians must be proud?of having her.

?

- The event makes me think that?SRP?could?be far more effective

when?focus is clear and?order of?priorities are understood.?A good organization
always seeks?to reevaluate its effectiveness.?

?

- It was?an opportunity for SRP?to display?the potential in its leadership.? US
congressmen?stressed?the importance of?Cambodian elections. It was obvious what
they're thinking about and how well?they're informed about the?last
election?conduct and?performance.

?

- I'd like to thank the?Cambodian local group (CAHRAD) for?its?leading role and
for?working with?SRP members?to bring the event to a success. Future
collaboration are necessary and anticipated.

?

Sincerely,

?

Kunno Prak
