You probably misunderstand the will to fight for one's principle. Sam Rainsy fight for his power. He asks Cambodians to follow him. What does Sam Rainsy do? You are right. Sam Rainsy left Cambodians in their self defense. Sam Rainsy ran for his own safety because he has the mean to do it.
