China and US don't need to rescue Cambodia. Why do you think that these two countries have to rescue Cambodia? Remember! they donate money to Cambodia for a reason. They don't just give. If there is no vital interest for America, US would do nothing with Cambodia. That is fact. American government doesn't just do it for sentiment. > In relation to Cambodia, CHINA is Zero achievement, every time Chinese start > to move their men or policies to influence Cambodia, the Vietcong/NVA punch > in the Chinese nose first all the times. > You need to look deeper. The main purpose of Chinese involvement in Cambodia was to inject their influence into the area. They had done quite a bit in the past. Today, China has their eyes on a very different path. Their country has grown so much along with capitolism. So their vital interest was on that path. What does Cambodia have for their vital interest? Their policy toward Cambodia is set according to the answer to the question. > Now the ECCC in Cambodia is indirectly control by Vietnamese government > through their puppet Mr. Hun Sen/CPP government. Chinese support Khmer Rouge regime AT THE TIME because they have their vital interest in the region. Today, their vitial interest has changed its path to a very different direction. Look at Shianghai. It doesn't look like Chinese communist city at all. Do you think that China is still what once was? > At this stage USA do not want to save Cambodia from Vietnam swallowing, so > what CHINA must do is to wake up quickly by allying themselves with USA the > same way as Mr. Deng Xao Ping did with Mr. Ronald Reagan in 1980’s and > rearmed the ex- Khmer Rouge soldiers again to save Cambodia from extinction. > At this stage, USA doesn't believe that Vietnamese is still controlling Cambodia. What they believe is that Cambodia is still influenced by Vietnam. It means that it is the decision of the Cambodian people. If Cambodians really want to sell their own country to some ideology such as vietnam, so be it. It is not different from being influenced by USA or china. The real difference is the ideology itself. Today, Hun Sen and CPP seem to go along with Vietnamese ideology. So that is the decision of the Cambodian government. Any other countries have no say. It doesn't mean that they are doing anything wrong. It is just a disagreement among people. If Sam Rainsy is so good, his ideology would influence people to come to his side. Today they are not doing it. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group. This is an unmoderated forum.
