Hi KC:

You must have been a very active juvenile back in the good old day,
how did you keep up with school and all? You are one smart kid.

No Thach Saly was antiquity, Thach Santor and Malivan were
inseparable. Both Malivan and Santhor used to be "A" students, but
they could not complete the Bac 2 before the war came, and perhaps
they chose to pursue music as the trade. I myself barely escaped the
temptation. I think he used to play in the floating restaurant/bar at
Chatumouk with Si Nan. I played for awhile in the other floating
restaurant in front of the Ministere Etrangere before the Chatumouk
was open, nearly flunk out of school (I went to Techno, ITSAK).

Yel and his wife Neang Houy Meas, Var Sovy, Chheang (solo) and his
younger brother Pheeng (singer).

When Yel had marital problem with Houy Meas, there was a pain for the
Big Radio band, they put me as a stand-in for Bung Yel to please houy
Meas so she can sing.

Yel and Si Nan went to work for the Pochintong clan, and they get to
control all the USAF air support in the country. We use to beg them
for help sending air observer or strike to us little guys up and down
the southeast. They were very helpful. I do not know what has happened
to Bung Yel, but Si Nan (Khmero-anglais) is living in Long Beach LA.
The last time we met he, Khoun, accompanied me singing the version of
Paul McCartney song "Yesterday", it has always been by favorite song
which I can remember the lyric from beginning to end.

I will croon for all our old comrades if I still have the voice before
asthma gets me.

Thank KC for the memories.

NKR
