Khmer Rouge killed their own trusted people because some of them disagree with the direction they were going. That was why that started to gether those leaders to S21. Remember! the majority of those who were killed in S21 were Khmer Rouge cadres. you are right. Vietnamese could have taken over Cambodia easily. However, they did not because there was no reason for them to do it. And some people like would not have it because that is not what you want to believe. Khmer Rouge regime is about the best Cambodian nationalist you can find in Cambodian recent history. I know you disagree. But I am begging you to think really hard before you make your judgement. Khmer Rouge fought from the bottom of their hearts for their gracious revolution. They strongly believed that they could end the class warfare existed in Cambodia. Then Cambodian peasants would be able to come out of their poverty. They accomplish most of what they wanted until they were splitted by their differences. Beside, those idiot peasants killed like they found candies. consequently they weaken their own infrastructure. Then they went to attack Vietnam. Put these two things together, the weakness and aggressiveness. That's right.
