Here are the things that Cambodians see.
1- Thai soldiers have had very little experience in war in comparison
to Cambodians even when they have superior weapons.
2- Thai soldiers and Cambodian soldiers fight two different kind of
war. Thai has never had experience with jungle warfare. Cambodians
had.
3- Schychological factors play a big role in winning a war. Thai
people and Thai soldiers don't even have equal courage to fight the
war because they have never had a war in recent years. On the other
hand, most Cambodians lived through a prolonged war of all kind.
4- Thai always used Cambodian factoins to shield the war from spilling
into their country. They are very afraid of Vietnamese warfare. They
know now that Cambodians and Vietnamese are good friends. Put these
things together.
5- Even American soldiers with super power could not even win the war
against those who wear sandle, and oxcard to transport weapons and
supplies. Jungle warfare works.
