Dear Meeng Thavary, It's deeply heart-breaking and extremely sad and tormenting when we remind ourselves that we were of the lost generation of Cambodia. We've heard of other groups in some other countries claiming that thye're a lost generation. But compared to us the youth in Cambodia of around 1975, they're hardly "lost" at all.
We were the real "lost" generation, in the sense that most of us were literally destroyed, that is, murdered, by the unspeakably barbaric Khmer Rouge. Only a handful of us managed to survive, and a handful of this handful succeeded in escaping to a new country. Speaking about our difference, I think that that's not either strange or saddening. As they say, in a room with 100 people in it, there are 101 different opinions. So we should accept our difference as a fact of life. The thing that we shouldn't and can't accept is the insulting or cursing full of hatred and evil against those who're different from us in opinion or view or thought. If we don't agree with someone, we have to present counter-arguments, not mockeries or insults, let alone barbaric lowly disgusting curses full of hatred and evil. You're one of only a very few who adopt and adhere to this noble principle. OK. As for our difference, I have to clarify to you that I've claimed only the following 2 aspects: 1) Vietnam didn't order the Khemr Rouge to commit the genocide against the Cambodian people, and 2) The main reason of the destruction of the Khmer Rouge regime by Vietnam was to stop the Khmer Rouge from murdering the Vietnamese people in Vietnam in areas along the border with the then Khmer Rouge's Kampuchea, and as a secondary consequence of this action the Cambodian people and particularly the Khmer race were saved from extinction as attempted by the unspeakably barbaric Khmer Rouge. I`ve not said anything else about the Cambodia/Vietnam relationship or history. All Right. Dear meeng, thank you. You also please take care of yourself.
